Publication Ethics Policy for IJMSRI
The International Journal of Medical Science Research and Innovations (IJMSRI) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics, in line with the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). As an open-access journal, IJMSRI is committed to promoting ethical practices and maintaining the integrity of academic publishing.
Key Ethical Considerations:
- Authorship: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors should be listed, and those who did not contribute should not be included as authors.
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure their submissions are original works. Any use of the work of others must be properly cited and acknowledged.
- Data Access and Retention: Authors may be required to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to grant public access to the data if necessary.
- Multiple or Redundant Publications: Manuscripts should not be submitted to multiple journals simultaneously. Publishing the same research in more than one journal is unethical. Exceptions include publishing abstracts, academic theses, or preprints.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and include appropriate citations in their manuscript.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or reporting of their research.
- Errors in Published Works: If an author identifies a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obliged to notify the journal’s editor and collaborate to retract or correct the manuscript.
- Reporting Standards: Authors of original research must provide an accurate and objective presentation of the work performed and its significance.
- Ethics in Research Involving Human or Animal Subjects: Authors must include statements of compliance if the research involved hazardous substances, human, or animal subjects. Studies on humans must have ethics committee approval, and informed consent must be obtained and documented.
- Use of Patient Images or Case Details: Ethical approval and consent are required for any studies involving patient data or images, and this must be documented in the manuscript.
Authorship Changes
Changes to authorship (addition or removal of authors) can only occur with valid reasons and agreement from all authors involved. If any disagreements arise, the manuscript’s status will remain unchanged until a consensus is reached among all authors.
IJMSRI is committed to promoting transparency, fairness, and ethical behavior throughout the publication process.
